Arthanox MUD Areas MUD Clients Programs OLC Help Directions |
Once upon a time, back in January 2000, two people decided it was time to create a mud for them to build and code on. Icechild wanted a place to try his hand at coding snippets, and Mooolady wanted a place to fine tune her areas after she built them offline. They uploaded stock code onto an old laptop in a dorm room, christened the mud Angel's Fire, and got to work playing with code and areas. Shortly after creating the MUD, they decided to expand it from a pet project to and actual working mud. They recruited a friend and fellow college student, and got to work making areas and addind code. Along the way they picked up a few more builders, and then decided to change the name of the MUD to Arthanox, figuring Angel's Fire was too close to the free web page host. Arthanox had a long run, with a bevy of characters and builders, until late 2004. At that time World of Warcraft came out, and Icechild and Mooolady experienced some personal issues which took them away from Arthanox. At some point the MUD went down, and that was it. It's been over 2 years since Arthanox went down, and stayed down, and while I don't have time to revive it, I can turn what it once was into something useful. The code might not be around, but what little bit I have of Arthanox and it's building tools can be placed onto a website and utilized that way. Maybe I'llalso get around to an OLC Guide for ROM, but that's far off in the future, if at all. | |
